Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use the Polymer Industry Cluster (PIC) innovation intake site and when you submit application or nomination materials. By using the site, you agree to these terms.

Last updated: July 16, 2026

Acceptable use

This site is provided to support the PIC innovation intake and review process. Please use it only for that purpose. Do not attempt to disrupt the site, gain unauthorized access to accounts or data, upload malware, or submit unlawful, infringing, or misleading content.

Applicant and nominee responsibilities

When you submit an application or nomination, you agree to provide accurate and complete information. You represent that you have the rights needed to share any materials you upload, and that doing so does not violate anyone else’s intellectual property, confidentiality, or other rights. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

How submitted materials are handled

Materials you submit are governed by the Release and Authorization Agreement accepted at submission: proposals are not received in confidence, and they may be accessed by or shared with program participants — Greater Akron Chamber and PIC staff, Bounce Innovation Hub, assigned reviewers and committee members (subject to conflict-of-interest rules), funding decision-makers, and potential funding partners — to evaluate your application and administer the program. We do not publish your submitted materials on the public site. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy and the Release and Authorization Agreement itself.

Intellectual property

You keep the rights you already hold in the materials you upload. Submitting an application or nomination does not transfer ownership of your intellectual property to PIC; it grants PIC and its program partners permission to use your materials as needed to review and administer the program. The site itself, including its design, text, and logos, belongs to the Greater Akron Chamber and its partners and may not be copied or reused without permission.

No warranty

The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and using the site does not guarantee any funding, award, or program outcome.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Greater Akron Chamber, the Polymer Industry Cluster, and their program partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits any rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes relating to the site or these terms will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the program and the site evolve. When we make meaningful changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
